FINALISTS BILLBOARD MUSIC APP AWARDS ANNOUNCED

Earlier this month, Billboard announced the finalists for its first-ever Music App Awards at Mobile Entertainment Live!: The Music App Summit, presented by Logic Wireless. The awards will recognize the most innovative music-focused apps created for the iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Nokia platforms.

The finalists for the inaugural Music App Awards, selected by Billboard’s editorial team, represent the music apps leading the way across six different categories. They include:

* Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion by Artificial Life, Inc. in conjunction with Warner Bros. Records
* I Am T-Pain by Smule
* TouchChords: Jimmy Vaughan by Curious Brain

Best Music Streaming App
* Rhapsody by Rhapsody
* MOG by MOG
* Thumbplay by Thumbplay Inc.

Best Touring App
* Live Phish by nugs.net
* R5 by Ticketfly
* Bonnaroo by Aloompa

Best Music Creation App
* LaDiDa by Khush Inc.
* AmpliTube iRig by IK Multimedia
* MorphWiz by Wizdom Music

Best Music Engagement App
* Tap Tap Revenge 3 by Tapulous
* SoundHound Infinity by Soundhound, Inc.
* Mix Me In2 Taylor Swift by Fried Green Apps

Best Branded Music App
* 50s Sound Lab, Vitamin Water by Skyrockit
* ZOOZbeat Sprite by ZOOZ Mobile, Inc.
* Gibson Learn & Master Guitar by Gibson Guitar

The finalists will be featured in a pre-show special section of Billboard magazine and will have the opportunity to demonstrate the apps on stage and in Billboard’s “App Lounge” at the summit.

The Music App Awards are the core component of Mobile Entertainment Live!: The Music App Summit presented by Logic Wireless, taking place in conjunction with the CTIA Enterprise & Applications™ fall show in San Francisco, CA on October 5th.
