MUSICSTATION WINS AWARD

Omnifone, which provides unlimited music download services in partnership with major mobile network operators such as Vodafone UK, Telenor, Hutchison Telecom and Vodacom, has won Best Mobile Music Service Award for its revolutionary unlimited downloads service, MusicStation, at the 13th Annual Global Mobile Awards in Barcelona.

The awards, the most prestigious in the mobile industry calendar, are part of the world’s biggest mobile industry event, Mobile World Congress 2008.

Announced just 12 months ago at 3GSM World Congress 2007, MusicStation is the first digital music service providing unlimited music downloads over the mobile data network to virtually all music mobiles for small weekly fee of 2.99 (or local equivalent) including data charges or bundled free into operator price-plans.

Global Mobile Award judges voted for Omnifone over nominations from AT&T Mobility: AT&T Mobile Music, Bharti Airtel: Airtel Live music on Demand, PCCW Mobile HK: MOOV on mobile, Shazam Entertainment: Shazam iD.
