Hosted at three stunning locations across the party island, the International Music Summit will take place end of next week at some of the most exquisite surroundings of Ibiza.
Fronted by Pete Tong, the IMS promises a fresh approach to the industry standard music conference. The International Music Summit is offering 300 music industry professionals a unique opportunity to debate and shape the future of their industry, with unparalleled access to some of the most influential individuals in the business.
IMS 2008 will have it's own anthem as well. Tom Middleton will create a track in a live one hour showcase recording. The following day, it will be remixed, again live, by remixer of the moment, Radio Slave, before being passed over to Pete Tong, to be synchronised into visuals from a leading TV show. He will do this with Adam Wolf from Pig Factory in Los Angeles.
The track will be auctioned off at the end of the conference to labels with all proceeds going to a local Ibiza charity.
Pete told us how he came up with the idea. “It’s a bit of fun but also a chance for us to see some of our finest electronic arts and demistify the studio process to a lot of industry people who don’t really get to see this side of things. The whole concept of a conference anthem is almost non-existent today and with our preferred intimate event, we feel we’d like to highlight the point by making a piece of music that is inspired by the surrounding and the first ever IMS.”
Ibiza has been the right place to party since the 1980's. With the music industry being in a state of flux today, who knows IMS 2008 will turn out to be the one conference you shouldn't have missed.
