MINISTRY WIDGET OF SOUND

Ministry of Sound has launched what they call a "white-label campaign widget" which will be used to drive the promotion of singles, albums and live events online, across its portfolio of lifestyle brands which includes the record labels Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Hard2Beat.

The widget enables fans to download a versatile media player which can be embedded into their Facebook, MySpace or Bebo page, or personal blog, creating a channel which is visible to millions of social network users.

The media player draws dynamic audio and visual content feeds from ministryofsound.com, MoS Radio & MoS TV, providing the user with the latest news, music videos, full track downloads, interviews, mixes and live footage every time they visit their social network or blog.

The white-label widget provides a cost-effective promotional channel which can be easily re-branded to promote any single, album or event. The media player also enables fans to download and purchase the latest singles or albums from their chosen artist, creating a valuable and targeted sales channel.

The widget has already been used to promote the hugely successful Basshunter album Now That You're Gone on Hard2Beat Records, which recently knocked Coldplay off the top of the UK album chart.

The media player has been developed by creative agency Thin Martian.

Callan Harris, Online Marketing Manager, Ministry of Sound, said: "We're phasing out the use of microsites which are not only expensive to develop and manage, but also rely on customers taking the time to visit the site to check for any updates. "The launch of the campaign widget enables fans of a specific artist or event to embed the media player directly into a webpage which is updated automatically, creating fantastic promotional longevity."
