"We are engaged with indie artists and labels to identify their needs in distribution, syndication, analytics and marketing."

We followed your blog at Audio Bee for a while and it seems DashGo is still pretty much in development. What is the current functionality of DashGo? And why two brand names - Audio Bee and Dashgo?

"Audio Bee was the name for the indie digital label I started in 2004. I cut direct deals with all major digital music stores and had success with a number of artists, including Sick Puppies, Alexa Ray Joel and Coconut Records. When DashGo formed in 2007, all of Audio Bee’s distribution deals were transferred over. DashGo’s current functionality includes a simplified distribution platform serving digital music stores and a social media analytics tool for bands allowing them to track social network performance across nine different sites in aggregate or combination."

You're looking for feedback to help you to take the next step, what info are you actually looking for?

"We are engaged with indie artists and labels to identify their needs in distribution, syndication, analytics and marketing. We want to know the functionality they feel is required to succeed, to simplify their life, with an eye towards offering content owners in different media – video, photos, text access to similar tools."

Your approach is very much from a business perspective, we guess the majority of musicians aren't too much aware of that - they just want to focus on making music.

Do you want DashGo actually to become a label handling the actual business side of things (with real people behind it), or an on-line (computer driven) service supplying the tools to do the business yourself?

"To date DashGo has walked that line. Our web services solution provides a good deal of the backend required for distribution and analytics, but we put marketing programs into practice for clients as well. Long term, it is likely a number of our basic services such as distribution will be of minimal cost, and enhanced services like data tracking, sales analysis, marketing effort and ad campaigns will be offered at a premium."
