While often being referred to as the ‘Legendary’ Chris Cowie or the ‘Genius’ Chris Cowie, he feels he’s certainly not a genius and definitely not a legend.
“When I wrap my car around a tree that’s when you can refer to me as a legend but the genius term really should be left and to be honest it can add a fair amount of pressure. A genius to me is Mozart or Lennon/McCartney.”
Cowie’s musical career started at the age of 14 when he purchased his first guitar, and at the top of his success he was co-owner of the successful record label “Hook/Bellboy”. Squeezing out releases rapidly under many different aliases Chris’ tracks and remixes have been played all over the world by DJs in many different genres. His discography lists so many releases you might get dazzled.
Apart from the three albums he released under different names, there are over 400 compilation CDs holding one or more of his tracks. Yet, the label did not survive and after he grabbed himself together he moved around across Europe, founded a new label (F1) and lived in countries like Spain, Holland and the Czech Republic.
Today, a few years later, Chris is back in the UK. We asked him what he has been up to.

What was it you were looking for during your travels and why did you return back home?
"After Hook-Bellboy I became a sort of a Nomad living in various European cities and I very much enjoyed the experience. For seven years previous I basically lived in my recording studio in Aberdeen and
