"I know how much effort and love is put in a track so when I remix a product I try not to lose the essence of the song."



 

Consistently voted into the top 10 of DJ magazine’s annual Top 100 DJ chart for the past five years, Ferry Corsten hardly needs introduction.

Native from The Netherlands (just like Armin van Buuren and Tiësto) and been called the "Architect, Pioneer, and Instigator" of Trance music’s global dominance, Ferry not only performs his DJ sets all over the globe - but is also creator and remixer of some the most energetic and melodic records in dance music.

Corsten has been around as a Trance DJ for as long as we can remember. Two recent highlights in his impressive carreer are the release of his third artist album 'Twice In A Blue Moon' last winter and his performance this summer at Dance Valley - mother of all dance festivals. Let's talk!

Compared to the early days, what do you think is the biggest loss of today’s dance music scene?

"I miss the interaction involved when going down to a record store and buying the latest music and the anticipation waiting for it to come in. When I was growing up, I remember going to the record store hanging out with a bunch of people waiting for that shipment to come in. I know people do the same thing nowadays but on an “Internet” level. I guess I’m old fashioned that way and definitely miss those days.

And what's better now compared to back then?

"What I do like is how dance music has a wider reach purely due to the Internet. People can easily follow
