JEFF MILLS RELEASES NEW ALBUM AS "HYBRID" DISC

Detroit techno producer Jeff Mills has released his new album, "The Occurence", as a "hybrid"disc that plays both on a cd player or turntable. It's actually a 5-inch single with a CD stuck on the back.

This is not the first time Mills comes up with a great idea for his single releases, mix compilations and artist albums. In 2004, he released the Exhibitionist DVD that featured him mixing live on three decks and CD player shot by cameras from different angles.

Furthermore he re-scored the Metropolis movie and his "Blue Potential" album was recorded with the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra.

Let's not forget his Mix-Up Volume 2 album which was recorded live at Liquid Room in Tokyo, Japan. It's still one of the best DJ mix albums ever made. Check his full discography.

His new album is part of the "Sleeper Wakes" series. Watch videos and photos from his experimental performance for the series last year, which was also held in Japan.
