The Plastikman show is an unqiue combination of LED, lighting, and interactive technologies with Richie Hawtin inside the cage and in control of its stripped down minimal Techno we all know him of.
Richie Hawtin presents his Plastikman 1.5 Live show - along with his friends Magda and Marco Corola - at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam this Friday October 21 (as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event 2011). He's asked about the versions of the Plastikman show in an interview on the ADE website. Very interesting. Check it out:
The new show is version 1.5. What has improved compared to the 1.0 show?
"I think 1.5 is nearly what we hoped 1.0 would be. We have learned so much along the way, that we thought it should be mentioned that this show is an update. Visuals, the systems that run the whole show - it is more tight and some of the songs have changed as well. Plastikman live is an experience, a show that will continue to develop over the years."
I guess you have now created an expectation for Plastikman 2.0. That project can only consist of new material, do you agree?
"You’re right. Plastikman 2.0 can only come into reality when there is new material. So the next thing for me is to spend some time in the studio and see were that goes. I would love to give you a deadline for that one, but I really don’t know. I am just as anxious and excited to find out what Plastikman 2.0 feels and sounds like as are all the fans out there."
If you wanna know what the show is about watch Plastikman Live: 60 minutes in 60 seconds in an experiment by Ali M. Demirel.
