Mote-Evolver main man Luke Slater will stream a real live DJ set direct from his studio to inside the virtual world of Second Life on March 1st at 22:00 GMT.
Second Life is an online society within a 3D world, where users can explore, build, socialize, and participate in their own economy. This virtual world is entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 2,900,000 people from around the globe.
Luke explains, "Second Life is a virtual world where you design your own character (yourself) and inhabit a world where you can build, work, sell, buy, have sex etc etc. Sort of like real life except you don't die and you don't have to physically leave your living room. As you can design yourself to look like you I decided what would be really great would be to see if we could get together people in Second Life to come to a club where I would DJ live. The interesting thing is people have a lot of fun using real time chat in second life so it's almost like a lazy man's way to go out one night, have the live music, meet whatever sort of person you like and see each other."
