and Bel Biv Devoe at the same time. In 5th grade, I got turned on to Nirvana, and that flipped my world. By 8th grade, I discovered noise and electronic music. I was in weird experimental bands in high school. I've always been down with pop music my entire life though, even during the experimental phases."

There's a picture on your MySpace page: It's you holding Paris Hilton in your arms. Explain!

"She came out to dance on stage with me when I performed at Coachella. I didn't know she was a fan. We met the next day in the artists' parking lot, and I embraced her for a photo."

"These guys from Montreal are doing a documentary movie about copyright. They have filmed a bunch of stuff with me over the past few months. They want to open it up to the public and allow people to have a hand in making the movie. So, they're doing this video remix contest."

Your 3 albums are available from www.illegalart.net. How illegal is your music, and how do you feel about copyrights in general?

"It's a grey area legally. According to the Fair Use doctrine, it is potentially completely legal. I think copyright laws are necessary to a certain extent. Tell us everything about your love affair with your laptop.

"I have a Toshiba and a Dell. I spend lots of time with them, probably too much. I like watching DVD's on them."
