To Sylvia Tosun, freedom is taking a risk, telling the truth, trusting the Universe and allowing life and love to flow through us.

Your music has a touch of loneliness. It expresses a longing for something long time lost. Is that a personal thing, or a complaint against how society tends to run our lives?
"The beauty of these songs is that everyone captures something different from them; sometimes even changing with repeated listening. Within the realm of loneliness, there is also hope. It is both personal and Universal. I believe that everything in life has both sides to it. I collaborate with individual artists whose artistic messages are compatible with my own and hopefully, together we deliver a deeper understanding of truth -all culminating into a "world-pop" vision of songs that represent all sides of love and life.
''Such songs usually include metaphor, romantic archetypal art, spiritual poetry and multi-layered chords and music. I hope people understand the richness of these songs to be on a mission - not just written from every day happenstance, but touching on deeper layers from each of our lives representing a whole. An artist can have many choices - I choose to weave a pop song and thread it with the strengths of collaboration.''
Four of the tracks featured on your last album "Jump in" come from your EP "To close to the sun" released back in 2000. Why is that?
''It was more a representation of growth than anything else - I took my favorites and recorded them again - In a world of repetition, having to sing the same songs over and over again when performing live in various venues, it is fun to rework a song and rearrange something. I just took that concept to the studio.''
Dragonflies are all over the album's (collectors edition) artwork. What's your connection with dragonflies?
''Ah, great question, where do I begin on their significance. Dragonflies are magical, mystical and represent infinity, wisdom, rebirth and immortality. The dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growing and changing. They are fantastic fliers, that dart, twist and turn as they need to.
