WMC 2007 REPORT

Speaking of sound! Danny Tenaglia, once again at one of his legendary marathon sets on the Thursday, was absolutely right claiming Twilo's sound system is the best a club can offer. Loud and stunning for 12 hours and more. "Techno was the Answer" that night!

Back to Ultra. According to one of the people in the VIP area, "a VIP ticket was definitely worth the extra bucks; especially since it separates you from all the hot girls!". Ubercool. Except for the VIP fences that were easily to climb over, there was no VIP toilet, no VIP food and we didn't spot any VIPs there anyway. Talking about security, we expected "safety first" to be the credo in the States. But just like security at the airports seemed not to be as strict as in Europe, it amazed us there was no security of any importance at Ultra or at the clubs we went to. What a refreshing experience compared to festivals and clubs in The Netherlands. No one can get in there before being thoroughly sought for weapons and drugs. Long live the USA!

The second day at Ultra proved a fair amount of rain-shower actually adds to the fun. Wet wet wet, but people just kept on dancing in the rain. For those who managed to enter Coxy's tent, we must say Mr. Tenaglia did it again! Watch him joining one of the dancers - HappyKandy - when Carl Cox takes over from him.

Like Fedde Le Grand did the day before ("Mr. Underground" had the honour to fill the gap between The Cure's performance and dance music's superstar Tiesto) bringing some dancing girls on stage really makes a difference. Thanks Danny! It was a remarkable performance. Really. And just like Danny rocked the crowd inside the tent, Fedde got the crowd moving with some fine Electro House the day before.

Clubs. Pool Parties. Remix Hotel. Lots of things happening. Too much to mention. Yet we have to name few of them. Imagine an Aussie label throwing a release party to celebrate Luke Fair's 'Balance 11' and Chris Fortiers' debut album in a venue called 'Cafeteria'. Definitely different. Real girls dancing on the bar. Fun!

The "National" Remix Hotel - sponsored by Beatport and Microsoft - really got things going every day and evening. Check out Remix Hotel's blog with all info, photos, podcasts and more.

The pool parties at Shelborne had a vibe of their own. Actually we felt they were a lot of fun and the only ones with real bouncers at the (pool) door! :)
