Tell us a cool story :)
"Maybe I'll tell you about our experience when we were shooting a video for "Learned My Lesson" recently. We had a huge set erected in an old warehouse/studio type place with a load of lighting and cameras and all the rest of it and after a long set-up, we began filming, but shortly after, a fire alarm went off. There wasn't any smoke or anything around so we just kept shooting until a security guard came into the set and told us we had to come outside. We didn't think much of that either, thought that it was probably a badly timed fire drill (which aren't uncommon in Dublin) and headed outside, expecting to be back working again in a few minutes. Then when we got onto the street, we saw people and children all piling out from the neighbouring building which had to be evacuated!! As it turned out, we accidentally set off the alarm because of a piece of our lighting equipment had overheated! Although there was no damage to the building it was pretty inconvenient, and as we were standing around (in full video attire) trying to see the lighter side of this classic "Spinal Tap" moment, a line of 7/8 year old girls marched out the front of the building in full ballet costume, tu-tus the lot! Some of them were a bit freaked out, though, which made us felt pretty bad! We've got hand-held footage of the whole thing but have decided to do another video bigger and better but this time, we'll try to keep the ballerina's out of it!"
Remixing is hot these days. NIN have been making a lot of their multi-track recordings available for remixing. Would you consider doing that?
"Absolutely I'd consider it. I really liked that NIN did that. I'd love to hear what other people would come up with as a remix of our songs. Then if there was one that really caught my attention, I'd see about putting a new vocal melody over the top of the remix and make it almost a new song. When Silence Becomes Art did a remix of "Learned My Lesson" for our EP and I love that remix, so I'd be really interested to hear what other people would do."
