You are an internationally performing DJ, yet you named the track 'Eenhoorn' in the Dutch language. Why didn't you call 'Unicorn', and why is the track named after this legendary creature?
"We are Dutch and proud of it. The Unicorn is part of the city’s arms of the Dutch city Hoorn. This is the place where we created the track Een (Hoorn). The unicorn stands for white magic, devine powers and a rare combination of pureness and strength."
Love and unity seem to be a central theme in your work. Which of the following descriptions fits you best? A vulnerable woman who loves loosing herself in music, or a female powerhouse with a mission?
"If I have to choose, it will be a female powerhouse with a mission. The nihilistic perspective of being nothing more than a consumer or waste producer on this beautiful planet to me is a threatening one. Besides that, I do believe that dance culture holds a unifying power that can be applied in benefit of the unity of the all. I do understand a consciousness broadening is therefore needed. And yes, I do what I can. Our events are named All Is One to underline a more holistic awareness."
Any plans, announcements or wishes for 2008?
"Hopefully I’ll be realizing a new festival in The Netherlands, release music and spread love throughout 2008!"
This lady breaths music! Yet, when asking her about her most favorite album ever, Isis said never to have found a single artist that has been able to address her senses for more than just a short period of time. But the album that Brian Eno & David Byrne did together called “My life in the bush of ghosts” is still magical to her.
"The combination of multi etnical music is the way forward."
