WHAT'S YOUR THEORY?

Dillin: "Well, I would also say that it was a little of both. You know the first album is great, I love it. We learned a lot from making it and it is our gift to all our friends and fans who want and need that tripped out sound. That being said, with this new album, we wanted to do something different. Not just for us, but for everyone. We set out from the start to bring the sounds and excitement that the electronic music medium offers in a way that can be relevant and/or resonate with people who are at this point not into electronic music, purely because they cannot associate with it. We want to make people aware of and excited that there is a new wave of music about to hit the world … and we plan to be at the forefront of it, if not the spawns of it. That is, taking the sounds of today and creating pop music with them, similar to the Jazz and Fusion greats, we are trying to create sounds and feels, that until we create them, have never before been heard by human ears. And that said, wahla ... we hope you enjoy!"

Can you describe the difference between live performing on stage and DJing? Which feels best?
Danny: "That's a good question. It's much more gratifying to play our own music live. But, it's also much more risky. There's a lot of things that can (and have) go wrong at a live performance. One thing I know about playing live is that, when you have a really good show, there's nothing like it in the world. It's a great feeling, and it makes all of the hard work worth it. When we do a DJ set, I have it pretty easy. I have some CDs that I made full of samples that I scratch with on a CDJ, and that's all I do. I can't really beat match at all. Dillin is great at it. He'll get two records lined up in 30 seconds, put the fader in the middle and let them both play for longer than I've seen anyone else ever do it."

Dillin: "Like Danny said, there is no better feeling than a great live show!!! The crowd poppin’ off, everything running smoothly; however, not every live show is without its bugs. Not to mention, we are definitely growing as performers and there is a lot more tension when we perform live and I would say we are harder on ourselves too. But it is still the best, and well worth the stress. When we DJ together, it's so stress free. No set up or take down, and really no worries anymore of messing up. I mean, djing for me is like 2nd nature now (been spinning out in Seattle since 98), and Danny can scratch like a mutha ... so we rock a show every time and we hardly sweat a drop. Its just fun. The cool part is that now we have been lucky enough to have a few talented artists do remixes of our songs (you can hear them on our myspace account in a blog), so when we dj out now we get to spin TnM remixes, a few of our originals, with the hits and new releases of today."
