After making waves as drum and bass phenomenon Infiltrata, John Dadzie became the first original ambassador of the emerging LA Dub Step movement under the name of 12th Planet. 12th Planet is co-founder of the SMOG record label and the host of Dubtroit, a monthly night of dubstep in Orange County that headlines some of the world’s top producers in the genre and pulls in crowds from all over Southern California.
John is inviting music producers to collaborate on a project to make a song from scratch for an upcoming worldwide release on SMOG. This project consists of four phases, in which you're asked to create four different parts for the song: Bassline, lead, effects and transitions. Each phase has its own deadline. Unfortunately, we only found out about this project today and the biggest part of the fun - creating the bassline - is already past the deadline :(
Anyway, there's still time to create the lead and the other parts. See the video on The Public Record website for all details (check all four deadlines by clicking 'Project Overview' in the section next to the video at the right on the top). Submission period for transitions closes on September 23 and that is the hardest part ;)
