AFROJACK & QUINTINO REMIX CONTEST

Selecta is a supersized electro-house anthem with a lot of remix potential by Afrojack & Quintino.

Lending his name from the style of his haircut, AfroJack is the Dutch DJ/producer Nick van de Wall, who's won a Grammy with David Guetta for their remix of Madonna's track Revolver. Fellow Dutchmen Quintino has earned himself a reputation with his remix of Cidinho & Doca’s track “Rap Das Armas” in April of 2009, which became a massive worldwide club hit whilst reaching over 10 milion Youtube views.

According to Afrojack and Quintino the remix track Selecta was born during a late night collaboration. It all started when they were in the studio chilling, drinkin’ too much Red Bull and making a beat.

“Quintino and I have known each other since way back, when we were hustling small clubs and trying to get noticed as DJs. We felt like hooking up and decided on trying to create a track that would be a strong energetic floor-filler with a touch of the music we used to make and play when we started out as DJs and producers. One night without sleep, and we were done.”

The winning remix will be released on Afrojack's label Wall Recordings. Other prizes include Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro; an online music-production course from Dubspot; Beatport credit; and Sounds To Sample’s Elements Library.
