BARRETSO REMIX CONTEST

Aimed to become the turning point in Australia’s very minimal music market, Tuff Em Up! Records are a record label launched in 2009 under the umbrella of the Trashbags brand that has been operating in Sydney in the electronic music scene for the past 4 years. One of their signings is Frankie Barretso from Chile, an irrepressible force behind the nu-disco movement.

"When it comes to the fastest rising stars on the electro scene, it’s hard to resist the Barretso chill. This technically proven Chilean has been hard at work over recent months teasing and tickling us with his fantastic remix skill, having proved himself on re-rubs for the likes of Justice, Monomen and Astro. Along with the rest of the world, we’re yet to find out much more about this crafty Chilean, but sometimes mystery makes things all that much hotter."

With retro-futuristic synth explosions to wild percussions, Frankie Barretso's sound has raised the bar for modern disco. In preparation for the release of his second EP “Celeste”, Trashbags and Tuff Em Up! Records are having a remix contest for Barretso's track "Chase."

The winning remix will be included on the "Celeste" EP, while its maker will also see one of his own tracks released on Tuff Em Up! Records.

Closing date is set for the 23rd of May 2011.
