Born and raised in Philadelphia - Bilal Oliver was first introduced to music when he attended church and his first love was jazz. Following his earlier albums "1st Born Second" (Interscope, 2001) and "Love For Sale" (Universal, 2003), last summer saw Bilal's third album "Airtight’s Revenge" on Plug Research.

During his music career Bilal has collaborated and performed with several neo-soul and alternative hip hop artists, including Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, and The Roots. He also contributed to the 2006 Radiohead tribute "Songs With Radio Heads" with his take on "High & Dry." Bilal also appears in Dave Chappelle’s Block Party.

He now teamed up with VTech to reprogram his a track Robots. "I’m excited about this remix contest we’re having for "Robots." I can’t wait to hear what each of you come up with! This song is about status and the trickle down effect. I originally wrote this song in my hotel room in Rotterdam when I was on tour with Spike Lee. I kept everything I wrote on this song except for the drums, which Steve Mckie put new drums on the final version. I look forward to listening to everyone’s submissions. This will be a real treat for me."

The Winner will receive a prize pack of audible treats from Plug Research, the chance to meet Bilal when he performs in your town and his remix featured on the upcoming EP out in January.

Deadline is January 7th, 2011.
