DEPECHE MODE REMIX CONTEST

Electronic Music band Depeche Mode has just released their 12th studio album, 'Sounds Of The Universe'. Along with the new single 'Peace' taken from their acclaimed album, the band is inviting all budding DJs and aspiring producers out there to remix the band's single.

No other band of their stature has commissioned so many dance music producers to remix their work. The list so far includes Sasha, UNKLE, Paul van Dyk, Ricardo Villalobos, Danny Tenaglia, Booka Shade, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Michael Mayer, Rex The Dog, Ewan Pearson, Plastikman, Speedy J, Orbital, Blackstrobe, Underworld and Boys Noize. Although it's not the first time they do a remix contest, now it's up to you!

Written by Martin Gore and produced by Ben Hillier, 'Peace' is one of the standout tracks from the brand new record and the follow-up to 'Wrong' - the first single from the album (with remixes from Thin White Duke, Trentemoller and Peter Rauhofer). You have to buy ($3.99) the remix parts for 'Peace' at Beatport.com to get started.

The winning remix of 'Peace' will be released on Beatport.com through Mute Records. The grand prize winner will also win a Jazzmutant Lemur multitouch controller, Native Instrument's Machine groove production studio, a Pacemaker portable DJ system, V-Moda headphones and a $250 Beatport gift card.

The Depeche Mode Remix Contest runs from April 28 to May 26, 2009.
