While widely considered to be a pop punk band, Fall Out Boy's sound is often also described as emo. No surprise, since each member has played with different emo and metal-core bands around Chicago's underground scene before they formed Fall out Boy - bassist Wentz most prominent as the leader of cult hardcore favourites Arma Angelus. Other Fall Out Boy members are Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Joseph Trohman (guitar) and Andrew Hurley (drums).
Since 2003 the band has released five studio albums. Their last one Folie à Deux (2008) was promoted by a webwide viral campaign, initated by Wentz claiming the website for Decaydance Records was supposedly "hacked" by an organization called "Citizens For Our Betterment" while leaking paparazzi photos of Wentz's wife holding a pamphlet for the same organization.
A couple of days ago Wentz started shaking up things once more by posting the stems for 'America's Suitehearts' on the bands 'Friends or Enemies' page saying, "We thought it would be fun for you guys to be able to remix America's Suitehearts, so we've put all the instrument files up in Apple's Garage Band format so you can download them and have some fun."
Don't have Garagband? Never mind, you can load the files in iTunes and convert to MP3. Otherwise you could always start a game. 'Friends or Enemies' is a social networking site a-la MySpace where you can enter a race getting as many ennemies as possible ;)
Take in mind the link below might be slow due to popular demand.
