GET OUT OF THE GARAGE

If you're from the United States and play in a rock band or create urban style music with your friends, this contest is for you. With over 4,000 submissions in last year’s “Get Out of the Garage” contest, Flying Machines was the Grand Prize winner. Since then, they have been signed by EMI and performed at countless venues. This year, Converse and Journeys are doing it again - only bigger.

Two Grand Prize winners will win the prize of a free trip to perform with Flying Machines in Austin, Texas at one of the largest music festivals in the United States. There are two rounds of judging. In the first round, fans will have the opportunity to vote online for the top 10 finalists in two categories - Rock and Urban. In round two, Converse and Journeys will choose the top 5 from each category and announce one grand prize winner from each genre.

The remaining 8 finalists will receive four CDs, one pair of Converse shoes, and Guitar Center gift certificate. If the winner is a band, each individual in the band will receive the above-mentioned items

The contest is powered by Ourstage and the deadline to submit songs is November 22.
