MARIAH CAREY REMIX CONTEST

There aren't too many opportunities to remix top notch artists such as Mariah Carey. But starting today you can!

Music community Indaba and Sweetwater Music Store let you work with the multi-tracks of her third E=MC2 single - “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time” - to convert it in a smashing dance floor thriller. (Or anything else you have in mind for this track - you're the boss.)

To access the remix parts and enter the contest you must be an Indaba member and your remix must be submitted no later than August 26. Indaba members can vote for their favorite remixes. The winner will be chosen by a three-judge panel and will win $5,000 and the possibility of the track getting an release.

The judge panel includes Mariah's producer and manager Mark Sudack. Discussing the project in Billboard, he said the best remix could get a release. "Mariah is the queen of the remix," Sudack told Billboard, "this contest is a way for her to continue being a pioneer in the remix world, potentially finding a new sound, a new power, a new energy in the online space, as opposed to just the go-to producers of the moment."

Calling her "Queen of the Remix" and "Remix Pioneer" might be bit too much, but remixing Mariah Carey is awesome indeed and an opportunity you don't want to miss.

On top of it all the winner will be Mariah’s number one friend at MySpace for four weeks. Who wouldn't want that?
