DJ Mark Knight’s original productions and slick remixes make his studio skills among the most in-demand and sought after in the business, whilst his high octane sets have caused dance floor damage worldwide.
Yet, Mark Knight is more than just gigs and remixes. As head honcho of Toolroom Records, he created one of the most respected dance labels in the world. Celebrating success as the biggest selling label on Beatport and reaching the milestone of 100 releases in 2009, Toolroom has become synonym for cutting edge sounds and innovation within contemporary dance music - whether mainstream or underground.
If you’re serious about your music and are into making beats, Toolroom has a great opportunity for you. They have teamed up with Beatport, Future Music Magazine & Sonic Academy to launch an exciting ‘co-production’ competition. Mark Knight has upload key parts of the project to Beatport and midi parts to Toolroom’s online store.
"There seems to be an over saturation of remix competitions at the moment, but these aren’t really proving a spring board for people careers. With myself as a producer and Toolroom as a leading label, we felt we had the vehicle to offer up something innovative and put something back into the development of up and coming artists."
The winning track will be released in physical & digital format as an ‘exclusive track’ on Mark Knight’s forth coming Toolroom Knights CD (out Oct 2010). Other prizes include a $200 Beatport voucher, Focal CMS 40 studio monitors and Native Instruments Maschine.
Join the queue, hold tight and enjoy the ride. Deadline is 15th July.
