Fronted by the iconic Freddy Mercury, Queen became one of the most influential rock bands in music history - selling well over 150 million albums. Formed in London in 1972 with other core members Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor, Queen recorded some of the world's most celebrated albums ever made.
After Mercury died of AIDS in 1991 and Deacon's retirement in 1997, May and Taylor continued performing together playing Queen's greatest hits with guest vocalists such as Paul Rodgers. The last official Queen album titled "Made in Heaven" was released in 1995, featuring Freddy's voice from earlier recordings.
In celebration of Queen's 40th Anniversary, Brian May and Roger Taylor along with guest judges, Justin Shirley-Smith and Kris Fredriksson, Queen's resident sound engineer and sound producer are inviting musicians to remix the hit song 'Don't Stop Me Now'.
One winner will be selected by Brian May, Roger Taylor and guest judges and will be invited to an attended mastering session at the Metropolis Studios in London - the same studio where Queen famously recorded many of their hit albums including 'Made In Heaven' and 'Innuendo'. Travel and two nights' accommodation in London will be provided.
Furthermore the winner will get global exposure by having their remix featured and promoted across Queen's social media channels and website. Other prizes include Avid Recording Studio, several DVD and CD releases - as well as a cash prize of $ 1000. Submit by: December 13, 2011.
