Canadian rockband Arcade Fire is known for their energetic shows and the many instrumenst they use. Next to the usual guitar, bass, drums you can find piano, violin, cello, melodica, organ and harp in their compositions. The band, formed around married couple Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, has so far released one EP and two Albums. Other band members are, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, Sarah Neufeld, Jeremy Gara and Win's little brother Will.
Check out their first single "Black Mirror" (from the 2007 album Neon Bible) at the link below. It's an interactive video - by switching on/off the individual parts you can create your own mood. Nice!
At blogspot there's a recent FMLY blog-entry listing where you can download these parts to create you own remix. It reads, "The Arcade Fire in all of their innovative promotional madness have recently announced a remix contest for their first single."
The files are low quality MP3's, but why not give it a go? Check Arcade Fire's MySpace here.
Update: The FMLY blog has moved. You can now get the files from here.
