Brainchild of John Arroyo, Remixin.com just launched a new beta site. John is a composer, producer, sound designer and multimedia artist. His interests lie in the realm where music, art and engineering marry. It is his hope that trying to combine these three disciplines new and unexpected artforms may arise.
Formerly up as his derivative works project remixin.org (aimed to explore the outcome of taking a small number of tracks and remixing them into a very large number of tracks) John now aims to make Remixin a full featured remix site.
"I just launched this site for people to remix music on. Members can remix any track on the site or upload their own music and have others remix it. We hope to make our site stand out in the coming months by offering more features, tools and articles than other sites currently offer (like ccmixter).
"Bands and musicians can upload their own remix kits and stems for other to remix. I hope to make it easier for bands to offer their music to others for remixing and have remix competitions."
All new remix projects need support. So if you feel you have a track other people should remix and you're looking for a new place to share it with the world, Remixin might be your spot. Remember when Tom started MySpace? The first ones who signed up over there are now topping many people's friend lists - and some even became dead famous! Bet you wish you'd been just as smart - right? ;)
Happy Remixin
