French house DJ/producer and remixer Sébastien Léger hardly needs introduction among dance music lovers. He's been pumping out quality house, techno and electro tracks since 1999, including club classics such as "Hit Girl", "Hypnotized" and "Aqualight." Although he has officially remixed dance music artists such as Armand Van Helden, Don Diablo and Claude Vonstroke - but also Justin Timberlake, his own music always has been the number one priority for the Amsterdam based Frenchman. Yet, his bootleg remixes include a remix of "Around The World" by Daft Punk ;)
Findremix managed to get him aboard for their newest remix challenge: Sébastien Léger's 2008 hit ‘Majuro.‘ Nice one indeed!
"Majuro’ has a very obvious melody to it. I’m looking for originality with that melody – don’t just use it as it is. Use the melody creatively so it surprises both me and the dancefloor," Sébastien explains, who is looking for a finished product. "It has to have a tight mixdown so that it sounds perfect."
Léger will listen to every single remix himself to pick the winners. "I really hope to discover some exciting new producer talent through this remix contest. It would be great if the winner or winners also had their own tracks that we could release through the label later, so we could do more with them in the future. This remix contest is a really good opportunity to get a foot in the door.”
As well as having their remix released on Mistakes Music, the winner/winners will also get their hands on a whole heap of great prizes from Propellerhead, SoundCloud, iZotope, Ohmforce, and PrimeLoops.
Deadline is July 31st.
