TOOTS THIELEMANS BLUESETTE REMIX CONTEST

Toots Thielemans is celebrating his 90th birthday – ninety and still going strong! Plus: it’s been exactly fifty years since the legendary Belgian jazz musician (who played with icons like Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder) topped the international charts with his tune Bluesette.

In other words: two excellent reasons for Red Bull Elektropedia, The Academy by Borgerhoff and Lamberigts, Toots Music and A&Gallery to organize a remix/video/artwork contest.

The prizes? A trip to New York, a small budget (€2000) to make a music video for the winning remix or €500 to design the cover for its exclusive vinyl release!

Here’s what you need to do to win a three-day trip for two to New York at the end of September and attend the Toots Thielemans: Celebrating 90 Years concert at Lincoln Center.

Download the live version or recently recorded solo performance of Bluesette (or both) and produce a breathtakingly stunning remix that will blow the jury’s mind. You may also use the official album version. It will be sent to you upon request. All genres are eligible and – yes – you’re allowed to enrage serious jazz lovers with it.
