The Virgin Dolls - remix contest

THE VIRGIN DOLLS REMIX CONTEST

Sun, November 04, 2007
Virgin Dolls' frontman - Phoenix Rev - is interested to discover the re-works of his tracks from other producers or DJ's. He says it's emulative. Deadline extended!

The Virgin Dolls is an emerging band from Belgium exploring Electro, Breakbeat and Industrial soundscapes. Their sound - influenced by acts such as The Prodigy, Depeche Mode and Front242 - is a balance between furious rythms and more melodic parts, resulting in something quite powerful and original. After the release of their CD album "Blow your mind" in April followed by the digital EP "No Love - The Remixes" last August, Virgin Dolls' frontman Phoenix Rev thougt it was time to share!

''I started this contest for several reasons. As a producer, I'm interested to discover the re-works of my tracks from other producers or DJ's. It's emulative. As an emerging band, it's also a unique opportunity for The Virgin Dolls to increase its visibility in a creative way.

"Another reason is I'm trying to launch an e-label and this contest could give other new talented producers the chance to get their remix signed for a digital release on iTunes and other digital stores. For this specific point, I have to precise that the e-label is still in constitution, it could take several months before I can launch it for good and sign the best remixers.

"That is also why the contest rules don't mention a possible release but only say that the remixes submitted would be displayed in a free player.

"Regarding the contest's deadline I can say nothing was planned, but the 31st of October seems good to me as a start. Be creative!"

UPDATE: deadline extended till November 30.
