WE'VE GOT WINNERS!

Here at Laptoprockers' HQ we had the opportunity to listen to all the remixes that came in before we sent out the lot for judging, and picked our favourites quite a while before Merv sent us his picks. Yet, the two winners of LinPlug's top-notch FM Synth Octopus, turned out to be among his favourites too. Third prize winners are Sporophore for his old school mix of Sin Quest (028) and Alex Lavendar for his remix of Up Periscope (037). Other remixes we like to mention here are the Sin Quest remixes by AuraSounD (049) and Naua (025), as well as Zenmodulator's (47) Up Periscope remix. Each of these three mixes has a vibe that sets them apart from the others.

Now who will get the release? The winning remix overall turned out to be the Aya in Dub Periscope remix (041), but is was a photo finish! In Merv's opinion there's nothing between that one and Cortex' version of Sin Quest (007) so he put it to a vote with a bunch of his friends - and the Aya mix just crept in, so that's the lucky one! But that's not all! Merv told us he might release more remixes from the contest on a special Eat Static anniversary release later this year, and he picked a total of eight remixes from his selection of top tracks. If you're selected for this you'll be asked to supply a wav version of your track for consideration. Don't contact us, we'll get back to you and contact all the winners personally this week.
