This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Abbey Road Studios in London. This is the legendary recording studio where some of the world's greatest artists including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, U2, Radiohead and more recently Lady Gaga have recorded their music.
The Beatles named their final 1969 studio LP 'Abbey Road'. The album cover shows the band members walking across the zebra crossing located just outside the studio entrance on Abbey Road. This brought the street and zebra crossing worldwide fame.
The unique combination of their award-winning engineers and unrivalled range of equipment make the Abbey Road Studios one of the leading recording studios in the world. The studios and rooms at Abbey Road have an unique sound and are installed with a lot of vintage equipment. Propellerhead Software released a special Abbey Road keyboards Reason refill a few years ago. Seven unique instruments were recorded using the original equipment at the studio.
