Loops! for Android includes a drum machine and step sequencer that lets you create loop based songs easily. You can compose your patterns using a grid of 16 steps, each step being 1/16th of a measure, and choosing between different instruments, each one with an unique set of samples. The app is divided in two sections:
The application's main view, called the Song Composer basically is an arrangement of the loops included in your song, each instrument on another channel. You can easily add, edit and combine loops in order to create your track. Tapping on a loop lets you rename, edit and delete it. Use the Mixer view to control the channels individually, muting and unmuting them and setting their volume.
The Loop Composer is the place where you create your loops, the main building modules for your songs. To easily combine your new loop with existing stuff, you can play a new loop together with other ones. You can display up to four channnels at once choosing from many instruments available. When you add a note, slide your finger up to make it sharp, and slide down to make it flat. In the same way you can add accents in the drum tracks.
Loops is available from Android Market here. There's also free version available with limited features for you to try out.
Versions of Android prior to 2.2 may experience bad timing issues.
