AudioTool 2.0 is here! For those who have never heard of AudioTool (it used to be called Hobnox): it's an online in-browser real time environment using cloud technology where you can make music using TB-303, TB-808 and TB-909 and various other cool drums, synths and effects.
The new version officially marks the start of the partnership with Burn Studios, and Richie Hawtin their ambassador. The new AudioTool has new features and improvements to existing functionality, such as an improved sample browser, improved document handling and new timeline functionality like reverse regions, mute regions, merge regions, copy and paste regions, and copy pattern to track. Some of its new features include:
Sample Import
It's Now possible to import a sample from your hard drive, from a microphone or from your own or from other user’s Audiotool arrangements (license allowing).
MIDI Support
Hook up MIDI controllers and use them to control any of the Audiotool device parameters and patterns. Record notes or beats to timeline with a MIDI keyboard.
Record
Hit the record button and record device parameter and pattern changes straight to the timeline.
Centroid
This is a 16-track mixer with all you would expect from a proper studio mixer, aux send and return, EQs for each channel, pretty faders etc. etc.
After the BeatCanteen remix contest with Audiotool last year, you can now remix Andre Michelle's 1995 track 'A2' using AudioTool. Analogue mastering of the remix will be done by Oliver Lieb. For details click here.
