Let's turn the world upside down!
In today's world of high definition audio, we mostly rely on advanced studio reference monitors to get our sound right. Through advanced cross-over filters these speakers produce an honest and uncoloured sound. But what is right in that same world where most housholds rely on their iPod docks to blast your tune into the world?
This is where the Mixcubes come in: Active, full-range studio mini-reference monitors. Their design is inspired by the legacy of the 5C Sound Cubes used in virtually all-major studios for the last 25 years to check mixes when played back over small bass-challenged systems such as televisions, clock radios, computers and car stereos.
Due to the lack of bass sound on such systems, the critical mid-range areas - where vocals, guitars and keys fight for their place in the mix - are always over represented. This is where having a full-range monitor without a crossover can be truly revealing.
They may not be cheap, but the Mixcubes allow to check if your mix is still standing over cheap sounding consumer electronics.
They don't just turn sound upside down, but they look cute too ;)
