After a brief meeting in 2009, Richie Hawtin and Livid Instruments started brainstorming on an all around portable, yet powerful device for creating, producing, and performing electronic music. Over a one and a half year period Richie Hawtin and the artists on m_nus records helped designing what's called the CNTRL:R. The new MIDI controller/instrument, which recently debuted at NAMM 2012, was especially created for live performance and studio production. The body is constructed from light weight aluminum and is small enough to fit in a carry-on bag with only a single USB cable needed to perform. With the CNTRL:R you are able to create rhythms, sequence and perform drums, launch clips, mix tracks, and have complete control over your performance. It's fully compatible with software Ableton Live and Native Instruments' Traktor. CNTRL:R |
