No more flaws - Always mix in key

NO MORE FLAWS - ALWAYS MIX IN KEY

"We have many fans in the pro DJ community. For example, Pete Tong uses Mixed In Key for his BBC Radio 1 shows, and Ali Dubfire used it for his Global Underground 31 album."

Want to avoid key clashes in your DJ sets? "Mixed In Key" is PC/Mac software enabling DJs to use a technique called harmonic mixing. Chad Pranke, working for the company behind Mixed In Key, was kind enough to give us some clues about how it works.

Mixed In Key is not mixing software like Traktor or Ableton. What can it do for us laptoprockers?

"Mixed In Key will analyze your music files and detect the tempo and key of the music. You can use this information to create seamless DJ mixes. The idea is that you can play multiple songs at the same time, and eliminate all key clashes. Your mixing will sound very professional."

How does it work?

"Simply add your music files into Mixed In Key and click "Start Processing". Mixed In Key can scan thousands of tracks with just one click. Some of our DJs have scanned over 60,000 files to discover creative track combinations for mash-ups."

How is the output data presented to the user?

"Mixed In Key can write the key and tempo directly into ID3 tags of MP3 files for viewing in your favorite DJ software. It even works with iTunes. After Mixed In Key processing, you can see your results in the "Comments" column. You can also enable file renaming, so the key will be written into the filename. On top of that, Mixed In Key has a great browser that enables professional DJs to see analyzed results."
