Rekordbox allows DJs to prepare and manage tracks - be it at home, in the studio, or even on the plane! You can import songs from iTunes using the Bridge function or simply add them manually. Rekordbox will work out the BPM of the track and lets you set hot cue and loop points, utilizing a full beat grid view. You can add colour coding your music and all ID3 tag information for it to appear automatically on any CDJ-2000 or 900 any time later. When tracks are exported to a USB key or SD card, both players will load the waveforms instantly and allow you to record your cue, loop & set history during your set.

Sales Manager of MixVibes (makers of Rekordbox), Lionel Blanc believes rekordbox will become a standard with no partiality to other brands. Like an iTunes with all the extra features DJs need.

Up until now, rekordbox software was only available with a purchase of either the CDJ-900 or CDJ-2000. But from 24th of May, Pioneer will be making it available as a free download from the site linked below. Even without the players at home, DJs can utilize the software to prepare tracks in advance, ready for the CDJ-900s or CDJ-2000s at the club. Rekordbox will be fully compatible with future Pioneer DJ products across the range.
