Playing guitar has been transformed into a step sequencer system that allows control over playing styles, chord progressions and song structures.

German VST developer Sugar Bytes announced Guitarist - "The most complete guitar software of all times." Guitarist will be available as VST/AU Plugin for Mac and PC as well in a standalone version from September.

"The actual guitar player has been transformed into a step sequencer system that allows control about playing styles, chord progressions and song structures. Guitarist can be played live as well, with just two fingers you can combine chords and patterns easily. You can choose from factory chords or just create your own chords on the fingerboard. The Action Section allows you to tweak the sequence in realtime and apply timestretch, looper or other crazy effects."

The 16 step Pattern Sequencer allows you to determine if a chord is triggered, which strings are played and if the strum goes up- or downward. You can set playing style and strum speed, perform slides, bends, vibratos and portamentos and many more parameters to define the sound. With the Chord Sequencer you can create chord-progresions, each step can be repeated up to 16 times. The animation sequencer brings instant beauty and life to your riff. It lets you change fingersettings by three seminotes to create little melodies and alternating chords.

Song mode allows you to combine the 24 available patterns to create songs or complex riffs with 16 steps. Each step of the pattern sequencer can be repeated for up to 16 times, allowing for long pattern progressions and pattern changes also at uneven times.

Two amp models will be available as well as a direct out mode for your favorite amp-amulator-software. Two effect-units help provide the tone you are looking for. In addition there is a multimode Wah Pedal that provides a classical wah, talk wah and volume pedal/thremolo mode.

"Guitar players, keyboarders, producers - Guitarist is the new solution when guitar tracks are needed."
