Tabletop: The Expandable iPad Studio

TABLETOP

The heart of this new iPad app is a modular environment where you can mix and match different devices.

The guys at Retronyms have made a big step forward with the release of their latest music app. After apps like Recorder, DopplerPad, Synth, and ReBirth, 'TableTop' is an app especially designed for the iPad that emulates the hardware that you would find in any DJ or producer setup these days.

TableTop is a fully modular music production environment with fifteen available devices, including instruments, samplers, effects, mixers, sequencers, controllers, turntables, and more. It's similar to AudioTool 2.0 from Burn Studios (which used to be called Hobnox).

Music making is just as simple as dragging a device and use one of the pre-installed templates. Or you can use your own sounds in your production by transferring them using iTunes File Transfer, or by samping from the mic/line-in, from your iPod library or by pasting sounds from other iOS apps like Rebirth.

We're saving the best for last: You can even sync up two iPads so you can use them to jam wireless with your friends! :)

Tabletop is available at launch for a discounted price and includes 9 of 15 available devices:

* RS3 – Polyphonic Keyboard
* Gridlok – Touchpad Sampler
* M8RX – Tone Matrix
* Filtr LP – Low-Pass Filter Effect
* SpinBack – Turntable Player
* Mr. O – Master Output
* Goblin MX8 – Eight-Channel Mixer
* T101-Triggerator – Sequencer/Master Controller
* Recorder M2 – Input Recorder

Tabletop is now available from the App Store. Check it out. New features and devices announced soon!
