In their roles as professional musicians and studio engineers, Floris Klinkert and Frederik Slijkerman have always loved the sound of old analog gear - but also kept up with new software synthesis developments. However, none of the available software instruments met their high quality standards.
Also being professional software engineers, Frederik and Floris decided to do things differently and create the software instruments they dreamed of by themselves and founded their company FabFilter in 2002 for that purpose. Their first plug-in 'FabFilter One' was released in early 2004, followed over the years by a complete range of great sounding plug ins.
