Q2 DUAL DJ - "DJ DUOS REVOLUTIONIZED"

James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli are featuring the Q2 in their One+One tour which kicked off at WMC in Miami last month. How did it go? Why did you choose them?

"I initially contacted James when I'd first built the original prototype. I emailed asking for lessons using the EFX1000 as I hadn't got a clue at the time on how to use it! I included in the email about him being the DJ into gadgets and new DJ technology and would he be interested in my Q2 Dual DJ. He emailed back saying he was perhaps interested in my new invention.

"Then around July last year, James contacted me to say he was planning a world tour with Nic and my Q2 Dual DJ was exactly what they needed. I went out to Space, Ibiza in the September for the closing party where James and Nic tried using the Q2 for the first time. After that, I sent them down one of each model to use on their tour and next was the launch at Miami…"

The Q2 Dual DJ is the first piece of equipment you've designed and built, with - according to your MySpace page - many more ideas in the pipeline. Excite us...

"The Q2 Dual DJ is a simple piece of DJ Technology, but something that is definitely required by DJ Duos across the globe. Once I have the Q2 Dual DJ brand established, hopefully by the end of this year, I will sit down and look to develop the prototype of the next Q2 Dual DJ equipment…. Let's just say it's going to be the big brother of what I'm just about to launch. Over the years we've used all brands and types of DJ equipment. I'm looking to develop something that's got the very best features from everything…. Sorry it's a bit vague, but that's all I can say right now."

The Q2 Dual DJ World Tour will start in June. Can you tell us more about what people can expect?

"The tour was meant to start at the end of April in Hong Kong, but I had to cancel as I had another 5 or 6 venues in the Far East that couldn't confirm dates til later in the year. As the Q2 Dual DJ Tour, myself and James Boov will be playing at a number of UK venues in next couple of months before heading east. The complete listing will be on MySpace (until my websites are completed) I think in total we're going to be covering about 14 countries this year.

"Without having released our own production work yet, we aim to be in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's of the world next year from talent alone cutting up and combining the very best in House, Tech and Breaks."
